Event Description:
The OECD has been actively working with major Asian economies,
such as China, India, Indonesia and South East Asia since 1999
to assist in efforts to improve corporate governance in the region.
As we move forward, we are keen to benefit from the practical
experiences of US businesses working in these countries. Please
join us for an informal discussion over breakfast. Fianna
Jesover will kick-off the discussion by presenting results from her recent
meetings in China and Singapore with government officials.
Biographies:
Fianna Jesover is a Senior Policy Analyst in the Corporate Affairs
Division of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development
(OECD) in Paris, France. Since 1998, she has helped promote sound
corporate governance practices around the world. She has recently
been appointed to manage the Asian Corporate Governance Roundtable,
the China Policy Dialogue on Corporate Governance, Program on
Dispute Resolution and will continue to oversee the Russian Corporate
Governance Roundtable. Ms. Jesover was the principal author of
the White Paper on Corporate Governance in Russia that outlines
priorities for reform, as well as the policy options papers on
Russia's Transition to IFRS and Transparency of Related Party
Transactions. She also initiated a new OECD activity on corporate
governance of non-listed companies. She has authored various
publications, reports and articles on corporate governance and
participated in numerous conferences on the subject. Ms. Jesover
began her OECD career at the Centre for Cooperation with Non-Members
in 1996. From 1993-1996, Ms. Jesover was a trade specialist in
the U.S. government where she prepared market research and worked
with American and French companies to identify appropriate investment
and market opportunities. Ms. Jesover, a U.S. and French citizen,
holds a masters degree in international relations with a specialization
in economics and law from Boston University.
